Wood coal started in human history with the replacement of wood, which could not generate enough heat sourca when it was burned alone. The woods used in coal production are selected from hard woods such as oak, beech, hornbeam. The furnace built for the production of charcoal and covered with soil is called "torluk". Coal production is done with dried trees in areas designated by the state. Since this coal does not contain sulphur, it pollutes the air less than other coal types during combustion, causing it to be widely preferred for cooking and heating purposes. It is known as charcoal among the people. In these regions, families temporarily create living spaces and earn their living in this way. Electricity and water possibilities are limited in temporary living areas. Children who come to these places with their families for up to 8 months stay away from educational opportunities as this areas are far from city centers. Wood Coal work is almost a destiny for these children who cannot find educational opportunities. Unhealthy accommodation conditions make life very difficult for wood coal workers. Unfortunately, there is no solution to these problems that have been going on for years.
