The Hittites are one of the most important ancient civilizations of Anatolia. They established a state in Central Anatolia, approximately in 1600 BC, with Hattusa as their capital. This state turned into an empire in the 14th century BC by expanding to the eastern shores of the Mediterranean and Upper Mesopotamia. The photographs in this selection reflect the state of Hattusa, the capital of the Hittites, and the ruins of Alacahöyük and Yazılıkaya in its surrounding in 2018. The photographs reflect the precious heritage of this warrior civilization of the Bronze Age in a documentary style, highlighting the geography in which it is located.
