He was born in 1981 in Shumen, Bulgaria. He moved to Bodrum Turkey with his family in 1989 because of the forced migration .He received his first basic photography education at Marmara University Photography Club in 2000 and graduated from Anadolu University "Photography and Camerawork" department in 2014. Karagözoğlu has been a member of Bodrum Photography Art Association since 2014 and has been on the board of directors of the association since 2016. Graduated from Dokuz Eylül University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Photography in 2020, Karagözoğlu has a new understanding of objective and social documentary photography and conducts experimental and conceptual studies by applying alternative photo printing techniques.
Forced migration has been seen through history and has economic, sociological and psychological dimensions. People are uprooted and forced to migrate. This process is an emotional and traumatic experience for anyone who lives. I also had to emigrate from Bulgaria to Turkey with my family at a young age. During this process, we also had losses and those we left behind.
"Dont Forget Me" is a project what i do on my memory, belonging, behindhands, remembering and returning to roots. It is a project that tells both very far and very close.
