Early this year Thomas Grøndahl visited the seaside town of Olhão in Southern Portugal. This trip opened his eyes and senses to the life of the fishermen and their families, in a wider historical perspective. These people deeply rooted to the Atlantic Ocean, made a huge impression.
Home again, he soon saw the entire World entering a frantic and paralysed state.
His festival contribution Calm Before Storm, is a visual poem consisting of blended themes that Thomas has been drawn to over the past ten years, forming a kaleidoscope of reflections upon the actual situation of the World.
