"They" are AfroTurks. They came or were brought to Western Anatolia for various reasons in the last periods of the Ottoman Empire. In terms of their colors, they are far from this geography, they are exactly "we" with their clothes, speeches and lives. Those who call them Arabs in the bazaar and in the bazaar, those who think they are refugees trying to cross to Europe are surprised to see that they speak Turkish in their local dialects. Because they have been here for four generations and now they are a color of Anatolia. There are housewives, latherers, firemen, and lawyers among them. Although their colors are distant, their names are close enough to be Serkan, Şakir, Hatice, Beyhan, Melek. AfroTurks, who blend their own traditions with Turkish traditions and continue their colorful lives, are also the center of attention of national and international researchers. AfroTurks are the best proof that color does not make people distant. AfroTurks are both far and very near to us.
